AI approaches: understand the whole field
Start with explicit knowledge, search, and uncertainty; then connect these foundations to learning, neural models, and useful applications. Architecture, training feedback, and application design are different dimensions.
| Approach | Main mechanism | A useful question |
|---|---|---|
| Symbolic / rules | Explicit facts, logic, constraints | Does this plan meet the prerequisites? |
| Search / planning | Explore states and action sequences | Which valid route has the lowest cost? |
| Probabilistic reasoning | Represent uncertainty; update with evidence | How plausible is a fault after a noisy sensor reading? |
| Machine learning | Fit patterns or policies from experience | What can past examples teach us about new inputs? |
Learn the method. Examine the evidence.
Each lesson connects the AI concept to its mechanism, a worked scenario, a practical decision, and a reasoning question with an answer. Seven focused Python experiments cover search, nearest neighbors, k-means, Q-learning, regression training, attention, and precision/recall. The external editor sends submitted code to OneCompiler; use only non-sensitive examples.
A few things to know.
Is this course suitable for beginners?
Yes. Start with the plain-language explanation. Python demos are small, optional experiments; primary-source links give a deeper next step.
Does every demo train a real AI model?
Code is used when it clarifies the method: search, nearest-neighbor prediction, k-means, Q-learning, regression training, attention, and evaluation metrics. Other lessons use worked AI scenarios. The course explains what is learned, what is supplied, and what each experiment can establish.
Do I need a paid API or GPU?
No paid API or GPU is needed for the reading lessons or the seven small Python experiments. Training large neural models and deploying real services have different requirements.
Is the Tamil content fully explained in Tamil?
Yes. Explanations, examples, practice questions, answers, and cautions use approachable Tamil Nadu spoken-style Tamil. Familiar technical names remain in English where helpful.
Is there a certificate or saved progress?
Not currently. This is a free, self-guided course with reading lessons and runnable demonstrations.
